Integrated Management System Policy Statement

SPIRAC commenced operation in 1960 in Sweden, pioneering shaftless spiral conveyor technology for the European Water Industry. SPIRAC are now the leading suppliers of bespoke materials handling equipment for screenings, grit and sludge. This equipment comprises of shaftless screw conveyors, compactors, sliding frame/live bottom silo tanks, bunkers and screens primarily for use in the wastewater, waste industry and industrial applications. SPIRAC UK is based in Banbury in Oxfordshire and employs 17 people.

The Integrated Management System defines the processes and procedures to be implemented in order to ensure that this policy is fulfilled. The Integrated Management System addresses the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 (quality), BS EN ISO 14001 (environment) and BS ISO 45001 (Occupational health & safety) and is subject to a process of continuous improvement.

During the course of our business, the directors are committed to delivering the highest quality of service whilst ensuring the occupational health, safety and well-being of our employees and minimising our impact on the environment. To meet this commitment the directors, accept ultimate responsibility for the company’s Integrated Management system. This system meets, and where possible exceeds the requirement of the ISO standards.

SPIRAC, as a responsible organisation, recognises its obligations to consider all relevant quality, health and safety, and environment issues in its dealings with its customers, employees, suppliers and the general public.

SPIRAC will ensure continual improvement in the delivery of its services and its health, safety and environmental impacts at all levels within the company, by committing to;

  • Meet and exceed client expectations by continually improving the quality and delivery of our services
  • Regularly review business performance and continually improve through the setting, achieving and exceeding health and safety, quality, environmental and employment law objectives and targets
  • Ensure that our employees have the necessary training, skills and resources to meet our safety, health and environmental performance
  • Ensure that all policies and business practices are communicated to all employees, and to any contractors that may be working on our behalf where relevant, through appropriate briefings and training
  • Prevent pollution, injury and ill health as far as reasonably practicable
  • Consult with our employees on matters affecting their health, safety and wellbeing, and take part in setting the company objectives
