A typical sewage treatment plant uses a range of treatment processes to produce recycled water and biosolids. In wastewater treatment, the process can be divided into four steps: pretreatment, primary, secondary and tertiary treatments.
This Water Treatment Plant was built in 1985 and supplies a population of around 200,000 people with drinking water. Raw water quality has deteriorated over time due to the peaty hills the water runs down before being collected in the reservoir.
The goal of this project was to improve screening to help protect the pumps downstream, the project also responded to concerns raised by local residents regarding odours and noise from the existing screens, which are located outside the main pumping station building. To help address these concerns the equipment is placed in a new soundproof and odour controlled building.
SPIRAC was contracted by Tier One Contractor Galliford Try to provide a prefabricated packaged treatment plant for the Bolton Upon Dearne Preliminary Treatment Area (PTA).
Thank you for visiting our stand at the Water Equipment Show! The exhibition was a great success and it gave us the opportunity to showcase our full equipment range from screens to biosolids storing. We are very pleased for the attendees that joined our stand to discover the latest solutions that make us the leading Company for screening, grit and biosolids handling.
