Inlet Works upgrade

SPIRAC was contracted to upgrade the Inlet Works Area for this project to allow for future population growth in the area.

SPIRAC supplied and commissioned FINEGUARD^TM a traveling fine screen and SPIROWASH^® a screen-specific washpactor. The Inlet Works upgrade improved the screening capture at the head of the WWTP inlet works. SPIRAC supplied and commissioned FINEGUARD^TM a traveling fine screen to replace the undersized screen. SPIRAC also provided a SPIROWASH® unit, a screen-specific washpactor to dewater screenings and improve organics retention. FINEGUARD^TM is able to handle a flow rate of 250 L/s. The screen is equipped with 5 mm perforated panels that can achieve a Screen Capture Ratio (SCR) of 79 %.
The SPIROWASH^® volume reduction can range from 50 to 85% and moisture reduction can range from 35 to 50%. The DS content of the final screenings are approx. 35 to 45% DS.
